The Star Phoenix wrote a nice review about this “Little Badger & the Fire Spirit” performance:  http://thestarphoenix.com/entertainment/local-arts/sum-theatre-delivers-warm-message

“Based on a story by elder Maria Campbell, the play shows how a blind boy brings the warmth of fire to the world. Krystle Pederson stars as the title character who embarks on the quest. Badger is warned that if he goes into the mountain where the Fire Spirit lives, he’ll face terrifying creatures.

The charm & depth of the story is apparent as soon as Badger’s journey begins. Rather than slaying each beast that gets in his way, he wins each over by being gentle — fearless, but gentle.

He’s following the message of his elder (Joseph Naytowhow), who has told him “Follow the trail. Smell the sweetgrass. And always be kind.”

Little Badger & the Fire Spirit is a warm & uplifting story…”
